NODE FEST 2019 Ident - "FRUITY"
Node Fest is an annual festival that brings together motion designers from across Melbourne and Australia wide. A place to showcase upcoming work, listen to intriguing guest panel talks about the last software in the industry, and learn a few tips and tricks you may not have otherwise known about to help stay relevant and 'seen' in the industry.
Each year they have both a student and professional competition. The aim, to create a 15-second animated sequence/ident around a theme selected by organisers for that year. This year's theme was 'fruity'.
My entry for the competition was titled Deadly Temptations.
The story of the ident was about a relatively young girl and her dog companion stumbling upon a blueberry bush amid a forest. They are immediately drawn to it due to its shimmering and glowing aura, making the blueberries appear rather enticing to eat. The dog races to the tree first, lured by the temptation to eat the berries. The girl follows in-toe but is more hesitant about the circumstances. After the dog consumes the berries from the tree, the girl grabs a handful to examine and eventually tastes one. However, both don't realise that these 'blueberries' aren't just 'ordinary blueberries' but ones that convert those who 'eat it' into blueberries themselves.

As a consequence of being lured by their temptation, they both turn into giant blueberries. Shortly after, a strong wind gust blows past, and both are blown away with it, tumbling down the hill of the forest. Meeting their eventual doom and flying off the edge of a cliff where both blueberry characters smash to the ground forming the node fest logo.
