Melbourne The Exquisite City Project 2019
Exquisite Corpse Video Transitions: Siobhan O'Donoghue (0:00), Nicole Brimblecombe (0:20), Minuo Wei (0:40) & Rachel Martin (1:00)
Melbourne, the Exquisite city, was a university project intended for Swinburne's 2019 Grad X Exhibition. Grad X itself is an event where all design major students can submit their portfolio of work to Swinburne for the public to see. In return giving opportunities to network and the potential to gain employment from prospective employers.
This project that I worked on was a side feature for the main event. The objective was to create a looping exquisite corpse sequence/video adapted for a format suitable to be projected onto a suspended dome surface. The theme; how Melbourne is defined as a city, and what makes it "exquisite".
The project required us to work with three other people, each assigned 20 seconds of animation in a predetermined order. Each group member passed on the last frame of their sequence to the next group member to start their animation. In the end, we stitched everyone's videos together to form the "looping animation". My involvement (0:20) focused on Melbourne's exquisitiveness through diversity, art, culture and theatricality.
